Category C Date Added 22/02/1972 Local Authority Moray Planning Authority Moray Burgh Portknockie NGR NJ 48850 68428 Coordinates 348850, 868428 — 1860-61, remodelled 1899, Duncan MacMillan, architect. Plain rectangular church with gable end to street and long elevations E and W. Harled, tooled ashlar or concrete margins and dressings. 4-bay long E elevation with off-centre round-headed entrance to Hill Street; plain square-headed windows. 3 small cusped lights in S gable with wheel window above. Apex bellcote; slate roof. INTERIOR: simple galleried interior dating from 1899. — Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Built 1860-61 as United Presbyterian Church, later became the Free Church. Renovated 1899, when entrance in S gable (to Church Street) closed andd replaced by 3 cusped lights; new entrance to Hill Street and new interior fittings, including gallery.
