Details First World War memorial, 1920. MATERIALS: Portland stone. DESCRIPTION: Causewayhead War Memorial is located in the churchyard of St Paul’s Church, B5302, Causewayhead, near Silloth, Cumbria. It is prominently situated to the left of the churchyard path leading to the church from the churchyard entrance. It comprises a c 3m tall wheel-head cross with knot work carvings throughout, and “HIS” monogram at the centre of the cross head, on a low tapering plinth. The lower shaft bears an inscription plaque in bronze. The inscription reads: IN HONOUR OF THE/ MEN OF THIS PARISH/ WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 18/ (NAMES).
