Details SJ 97 SW, SJ 9110 7096 2/57 SUTTON CP GAWEND LANE, Canal bridge number 46 II Road bridge over the Macclesfield Canal, c1827. By Thomas Telford. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Single span. Front: horseshoe arch with voussoirs. Band below parapet and chamfered ashlar coping concave retaining walls to either side terminating in square piers. One half of this bridge lies in Macclesfield former M.B. (q.v.).
