Details SE23NW LS28 CARR ROAD ~ PUDSEY (south side, off) 2/111 War Memorial near to entrance to Victoria Park GV II War memorial. c1921, statue by F. L. Roslyn, sculptor (London). Portland stone plinth surmounted by bronze statue in iron-railed enclosure. Square plinth, north face lettered in relief "IN MEMORY OF THE CALVERLEY MEN WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-18" Good statue of woman in classical dress holding a wreath in one hand and a small angel holding a wreath aloft in the palm of the other hand. Enclosed by low walls with ashlar chamfered coping and original rod railings bearing the makers name of "Walker and Co, Idle Yorks". Prominently sited on the edge of the park fronting the main road. Listing NGR: SE2048737072 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
