Details STOKE ON TRENT 613-1/0/10059 SWAN SQUARE 31-MAY-01 Burslem First World War Memorial GV II First World War memorial. Circa 1920. Pink sandstone ashlar. Rectangular on plan, in the form of a large pedestal with a moulded plinth, a moulded cornice and a niche on the front containing a figure of a soldier with a bowed head, a rifle and helmet. Above the niche the date 1914-1919. Around the memorial an area is chained off by small plain stone piers linked by chains. Listing NGR: SJ8693549790 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 19 January 2017.
