Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 28/01/2020 SU 67 SE 2/1 BURGHFIELD KENNET & AVON CANAL Burghfield Bridge at SU 68142 70795 (Formerly listed as Burghfield Bridge at SU 682709) II Road bridge. c1812, probably by John Rennie. Bath stone. Single elliptical arch with rusticated arch-ring and keystones. Band, solid parapet and piers, with weathered coping. Adjoining to N., a lower, twin-arched brick bridge. The Kennet Navigation was established by 1724 and acquired by the Kennet & Avon Canal Co in 1812. John Hore was engineer to the Navigation. John Rennie was engineer to the Canal.
