Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 5 September 2023 to correct the name and to reformat the text to current standards SZ 39 NW 14/33 BOLDRE MONUMENT LANE Burrard Neale Monument (formerly listed as Burard-Neale Monument, previously listed as The Neale Monument at Walhampton) 8.4.76 GV II* Monument obelisk. 1840 by G. Draper, builder G. Banks. White granite, bronze inscription tablets. Egyptionate obelisk on four step base. Four slightly stepped plinth with projecting central tapering single stone with tablet on face. Above Eygptian cornice, three steps to 20m needle. Erected in memory of Admiral Sir Harry Burrard Neale of Walhampton, MP for Lymington. Obelisk lines up with axis of Lymington High Street and forms the end of a vista from Church of St Thomas at top of street. G Draper of Chichester is also the architect of the Eyre Coote Monument in Rockbourne. Listing NGR: SZ3304196589 Legacy The contents of this record have been generated from a legacy data system.
