Details BULMER 1662/0/10002 War Memorial 06-MAY-04 II War Memorial. 1920s. Portland stone. Shaped plinth above 2 rectangular steps surmounted by plain Latin Cross. The West side has a projecting central panel which bears the inscription "THIS CROSS/IS ERECTED/IN MEMORY OF/THE MEN OF THIS PARISH/WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN/THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919". Inserted below this are listed the men who died in the 1939-45 war and at either side, on the recessed panels, are the names of those who died in the first war. There is a simple moulding to the bottom and top. The reverse of the plinth and the sides are flat. The cross has a flared socle. The memorial stands in the churchyard to the west of the Church of St Andrew [q.v.]with which it has group value. This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 12 January 2017.
