Details SS 20 NW BUDE-STRATTON 5/150 Broomhill Manor - - II House. Mid/late C19 with rear additions of 1901. Stone rubble with some dressed stone on right end. Hipped slate roof, chimney of local brick on ridge repaired in C19 or C20 brick, brick chimneys on right return of wing. Double depth plan with rear extension and 3 gables to rear wing projects from front at right with hipped roof forming L-plan. 2 storeys. 3+1 window front, probably refenestrated. Off-centre C20 front door under Doric porch with entablature carried on unfluted stone columns on plinths. Further blocked entrance on front at left. Ground floor window left 16-pane sash with brick jambs and arch. Ground floor window right 16-pane sash under brick arch. French window in wing inserted into larger blocked opening under stone arch. First floor windows left and right 16-pane sashes with brick arches and jambs. Above the porch a canted bay window under moulded timber cornice which breaks the eavesline, 16-pane sash to central light, 8-panes to each return of bay. Two 16-pane sashes in left return of wing. Date of 1901 and initials GB on gable at rear. Interior: Entrance into hall which has wainscote of C16 linenfold panelling. Moulded plaster cornice and plaster ceiling rose. Fireplace has carved C17 timber lintel with armorial bearings. 6-panel doors. Broomhill is on the site of a manor house. The C16 panelling is said to have originated elsewhere.
