Details CHUDLEIGH SX 87 NE 4/4 Bridge over Mill leat about 200m - North west of Old Kate Bridge II Road bridge over mill leat to Town Mills (q.v. The Wheel). Probably early C19. Local grey limestone rubble. Single-span bridge with a segmental arch and parapets. The bridge is associated with a draw-door weir which regulates the flow of the water. During floods the water flows down a channel to the Kate Brook and a sluice gate in the leat regulates the flow of water to a mill in Clifford Street.
