Category B Date Added 11/06/1971 Local Authority Angus Planning Authority Angus Parish Murroes NGR NO 46164 34984 Coordinates 346164, 734984 — Late 18th century; widened at S, dated 1893. Single arch bridge; buttresses at N, coped parapets and forestair at S probably also added 1893. Rubble sandstone construction, keystoned depressed arch with stugged voussoirs. Armorial panel at crown of arch at S. — Edward mentions that most of the bridges in Angus were of stone rather than wood, although it is unlikely that Murroes bridge is earlier than the late 18th century.
