Category B Date Added 09/06/1971 Local Authority Scottish Borders Planning Authority Scottish Borders Parish Edrom NGR NT 83616 53325 Coordinates 383616, 653325 — Dated 1872. 3-arch bridge with cutwater buttresses with pilasters above; coped parapet; quadrant walls flanking to either side, terminated by square-plan piers. Squared and snecked stugged sandstone with rusticated dressings; brick soffits to segmental arches. Cornice. Date stone to centre, parapet of E elevation. — The bridge is a fine example of a more complex type. Edrom has a number of good bridges, for example those spanning the Blackadder and Whiteadder Waters near Allanton.
