Details IPSTONES C.P. CALDON CANAL SJ 94 SE SJ 999 491 9/212 Bridge at Consall - Forge, SJ 999 491 - II Canal accommodation bridge. Circa 1779. Coursed dressed and squared stone; labelled elliptical arch; flat-top parapet set horizontally over arch and ramped down at both sides and in a concave sweep to north. The Caldon Canal was built to carry limestone from Caldon Low. Originally surveyed by James Brindley, succeeded by Henshaw and completed by John Rennie circa 1801.
