Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 25/04/2018 SP4126 13/169 SANDFORD ST MARTIN LEDWELL ROAD (West side) Bridge approximately 500 metres west of Sandford Park (Formerly listed under WORTON ROAD) II Bridge. Early/mid C18. West face: coursed limestone rubble with marlstone ashlar dressings: east facet marlstone with limestone ashlar dressings. Baroque style. A row of seven graduated semi-circular arches with ashlar voussoirs and double-stepped radiating keyblocks, the principal keyblocks linked to a stepped ashlar band. The wide central span has four subsidiary keyblocks; the other arches have two. The east face is partly ruinous. There is no parapet and the turf roadway rises towards the centre of the bridge which spans approximately 70 metres across the largest of the lakes in Sandford Park. Sandford Park is included in the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II. Listing NGR: SP4149626827 Legacy The contents of this record have been generated from a legacy data system.
