Details BRANCEPETH A 690 NZ 2237 22153773 (East side, off) 15/1 Brancepeth Bridge 25/10/74 (formerly listed as Brancepeth Old Bridge) II Road bridge over Stockley Burn. Early-mid C19 rebuilding of earlier bridge. Sandstone ashlar arch and parapets, rock-faced abutments and rubble end walls. Gothic style. High pointed arch under drip-mould flanked by wide battered abutments. Band at road level is dentilled above arch. Embattled parapets between slightly higher end sections which break forward over abutments. Battered end walls with quoins and rendered coping. This bridge straddles the parishes of Brancepeth and Crook-and-Willington. Listing NGR: NZ2215937728 Legacy The contents of this record have been generated from a legacy data system.
