Category B Date Added 18/11/1998 Local Authority Midlothian Planning Authority Midlothian Parish Temple NGR NT 31826 58949 Coordinates 331826, 658949 — Circa 1930, incorporating parapets of 1811. Arched, single span road bridge over River South Esk. Coped re inforced concrete arch ring; concrete stanchions supporting deck and coped, bull faced, squared and snecked sandstone parapet with polished, coursed sandstone refuges. Tooled panel to inside of E parapet reading "Erected by ROBERT DUNDAS OF ARNISTON Chief Baron of the Exchequer A.D. 1811". — Extremely good example of 1930's re inforced concrete bridge engineering. The original Braidwood Bridge substructure, built by Robert Dundas, is now at Carrington Mill.
