Background
History
The college was established in 1913 by George Cadbury to cater for education for the local population that included the workforce of the nearby Cadbury chocolate and confectionery factory, and was named Bournville College from 1949. In 1972, the college was relocated to Bristol Road (), into premises that had been part of City of Birmingham Polytechnic. Further expansion took place during the 1970s, and in 2011, the college occupied its new purpose-built campus in Longbridge with a capacity for 15,000 students and 4.2 acres of grounds on the site of the former MG Rover automobile factory that closed in 2005.
