Details NY 8283-8383 21/35 BELLINGHAM MANCHESTER SQUARE Boer War Memorial Fountain GV II War memorial, 1902. Sandstone ashlar and marble, repaired in pink concrete. Stepped square base covered in concrete in late C20. Tall, stepped square plinth with inset marble inscription panel; semicircular basins on returns. Heavy, square canopy with wreathed empty plinth above, rests on four marble columns and shelters figure of soldier. Listing NGR: NY8384483276 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online, the War Memorials Register and North East War Memorials Project.
