Category C Date Added 28/08/1980 Local Authority Argyll And Bute Planning Authority Argyll And Bute Parish Ardchattan And Muckairn NGR NM 96583 42121 Coordinates 196583, 742121 — Late 18th/early 19th century. Single span bridge with high segmental arch. Random rubble. Simple stone parapet. — The bridge of Barcaldine appears marked, on the 1st edition Ordnance Map of 1874. The previous list description suggested in may be of 18th century origin but a late 18th/early 19th century date appears to be more likely. It is a good example of a narrow single span bridge with a high segmental arch. It may have been constructed in conjunction with the nearby walled garden which formed part of the Barcaldine House estate. Owned by Forestry Commission Scotland.
