Category A Date Added 03/08/1971 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Burgh Annan NGR NY 19107 66585 Coordinates 319107, 566585 — Robert Stevenson, engineer, 1826. Large roadbridge, 3 segmental arches (each span approx 21 m) carrying A75 over River Annan. Red ashlar, with rounded semi-domed cutwaters either side, channelled voussoirs and outer pilaster strips to battered abutments: flat roadway. String course below parapets. — Also in Annan parish. In 1814 Thomas Telford inspected the earlier bridge and declared it to be beyond repair (D1/1/15 p. 361). Survey plan by Telford of that bridge held in Burgh archives.
