Details NU 1913 7/29 BONDGATE WITHOUT (North side) War Memorial II 1920. Triangular base with piers at corners and segmental moulded cornice. Three scroll brackets to plain Doric columns supporting an ornamental lamp holder. Each corner pier supports a bronze figure - soldier, sailor, airman (by R Hedley 1921) mourning with reversed 303 rifles. Two plaques inscribed with an impressively long list of those killed in the 1914-18 war and one to those in the 1939-45 war.
