Reason for designation: Listed as a prominent and impressive War Memorial in attractive village setting. History: First World War Memorial, erected in 1923 and executed by E J Jones of Glynarthen. Exterior: Tall polished black granite pedestal with inscriptions to S, E and W sides, moulded cornice; stepped base of grey granite. Carved white marble figure of a soldier upon pedestal with reversed rifle. Low stepped base with cast iron rail around memorial. The whole stands on a tapering base of rock-faced sandstone. On the S side is a pair of low rock-faced sandstone piers with cemented copings. Dwarf wall between with simple cast iron railing incorporating central gate.
