Britain's lighthouses
Eddystone to North Foreland — the engineering of the British coast.
Britain's lighthouses are mostly maintained by Trinity House (England, Wales, Channel Islands), the Northern Lighthouse Board (Scotland, Isle of Man), and the Commissioners of Irish Lights (Northern Ireland). All are now automated. Many of the older towers have visitor access — the most striking are Eddystone (rebuilt four times), Bell Rock (the world's oldest sea-washed working tower), Smeaton's Tower (now in Plymouth), and Beachy Head.
