Speyside whisky distillery trail
Glenfiddich, Macallan, Glenfarclas — half of Scotland's malt distilleries are in this 50-mile valley.
Speyside has more whisky distilleries than the rest of Scotland combined — around 50, including Glenfiddich, Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, Aberlour and Cragganmore. Most run tours; the official Malt Whisky Trail strings nine together. Two days are enough for a representative sample; a week if you want to walk between visits along the Speyside Way.
