The North Coast 500: Scotland's classic road trip

516 miles around the Highland coast — Britain's answer to Route 66.

The North Coast 500 is a circular tourist route launched in 2015 that loops the far north of Scotland from Inverness up to John o' Groats, west across the top to Durness and back south through Applecross. It links some of Britain's most spectacular coastal scenery, single-track passes and remote castles into a 5-7 day driving holiday.
