Atlantic puffins return to British nesting sites April through July — Skomer (Pembrokeshire, the densest colony in the south), the Farne Islands (Northumberland), Bempton Cliffs (East Yorkshire), Lunga in the Treshnish Isles (off Mull), the Isle of May (Forth), and Sumburgh Head (Shetland). All accessible by short boat trip or short walk.
