Architect
Buildings designed by Augustus Pugin
Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812β1852) was the great evangelist of the Victorian Gothic Revival. He designed every interior detail of the Palace of Westminster (with Charles Barry), the towering steeples of St George's Cathedral Southwark and St Giles Cheadle, and codified what most people now think of as "medieval English" architecture in his book Contrasts. Pugin's output is dense in the Midlands and London.
